Workshop Objectives

This conference focuses on the ultimate goal of Rehabilitation, which is maximizing community integration and participation. Podium and poster presentations will feature best practice and current findings in this area and will highlight some of our “Champions” in this endeavor.

Who Should Attend

All who are involved in the rehabilitation and re-integration of persons with disabilities and other challenges. This includes physicians, physical and occupational therapists, social workers, speech-language pathologists, recreation therapists, athletic therapists, community support workers, vocational rehab professionals and many more

Keynote Speakers

Jason Dunkerley

Jason is one of the world’s leading visually-impaired middle distance runners. He is a two-time silver medalist in the 1500m blind running event at the 2000 and 2004 Paralympic Games and the 2006 World Champion for the 800m & 1500m events. Jason continues to train hard and hopes to once again represent Canada at the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing. He is originally from Hamilton but now calls Ottawa home.

Bob Lujano

Born in Wichita , Kansas , Bob graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Law. He holds a Master of Science in Sports Management from the University of Tennessee. He is also a quadruple amputee. In the summer of 2005, moviegoers got to know Bob as one of the hard charging Quad Rugby players who were profiled in the critically-acclaimed documentary MURDERBALL. The film chronicled the team’s quest for gold at the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens , Greece . The U.S. team took home the bronze. 

Bob currently works at the Lakeshore Foundation, an official U.S. Olympic and Paralympic training site, as a Recreation Specialist.
